Learn how to make my approximately life sized heart (about the size of a large fist)! This kit contains everything you need (except scissors): printed A5 instruction booklet providing clear instructions of the materials and techniques with step-by-step photos, red and blue yarns, a 3.5mm crochet hook, toy stuffing, a large sewing needle, stitch markers, merino fleece, barbed felting needles (two incase one breaks).
The pattern is designed for people with some crochet experience and understanding. However, as it uses basic crochet stitches, it could be accessible for beginners too. It's made in a mix of amigurumi (in the round) and flat rows. Sewing up of all the component parts is required. Needle felting is used to add details onto the surface of the finished heart (although you can choose to leave it blank, or to sew on the surface vein details if preferred).
The completed heart measures around 15cm tall by 10cm wide. It has a depth of around 5cm. There is the option to add a hanging loop on the back, ideal for hanging from a wall nail. This soft sculpture anatomical heart is designed as a unique art work which is fairly anatomically correct. The finished heart is not a toy and not intended for children.
If you only want the pattern, you can purchase a downloadable A4 PDF pattern you print yourself here
Or a printed A5 booklet here
Please note that this is a kit only, not a completed heart!
This is my own design and pattern, please do not sell or redistribute the pattern, or sell the completed hearts. Educational establishments and relevant charities: feel free to make the hearts and use them in your post/promotions, please credit me as the designer (as Laura Cameron, Lost In The Wood).
