Learn how to make my approximately life sized heart (about the size of a large fist)! This printed 16 page booklet provides clear instructions of the materials and techniques you need to create your own anatomical heart, with detailed illustrations of each step. It's A5 size meaning it's very portable but the text is fairly big and the step by step photos are clear.
The pattern is designed for people with some crochet experience and understanding. However, as it uses basic crochet stitches, it could be accessible for beginners too. It's made in a mix of amigurumi (in the round) and flat rows. Sewing up of all the component parts is required. You will need red and blue yarns, a 3.5mm crochet hook, toy stuffing, a needle large enough to take two stands of strand of DK yarn, a stitch marker, scissors. Needle felting is used to add details onto the surface of the finished heart, advice on where the to purchase the barbed felting needle & fleece is provided (although you can choose to leave it blank, or to sew on the surface vein details if preferred).
The completed heart measures around 15cm tall by 10cm wide. It has a depth of around 5cm. There is the option to add a hanging loop on the back, ideal for hanging from a wall nail. This soft sculpture anatomical heart is designed as a unique art work which is fairly anatomically correct. The finsihed heart is not a toy and not intended for children.
