Petri Dish- Cholera

A unique little piece of science-meets-art.

I've crocheted giant versions of how Vibro cholerae bacterium, which causes the infection Cholera appears under an electron microscope. Big artistic liberties have been taken with form, colour, size and the fact that they they would never be grown in a lab on a petri dish! The aim is to make these microscopic bacteria vibrant, visible and engaging.

The plastic dish comes with a detachable lid and is labelled in Latin and English: Vibro cholerae (Cholera). Made using deluxe hand dyed yarn for the bacteria.
